Jeb's Palawan Adventure

Palawan has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines.  Many of my friends have been to Palawan and they have nothing but wonderful stories about the place.  Jeb (with some of his friends in tow) visited Puerto Princesa in Palawan just last week (August 4-7, 2011) and have discovered for himself how wonderful Palawan truly is.

On his 3rd day, Jeb and his friends visited Palawan Crocodile Farm and Conservatory.

Folks, this time, Show Me Your Look Today will become a travel blog. Nyahaha!  But hey, whatever we do, wherever we go, we should definitely sport a LOOK!  My blog is most certainly about looks, no matter what circumstance in life it is.

Let's check out some of Jeb's vacation photos while he was enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of Palawan.

At Kinabuch Bar and Grill, trying out the famous kinilaw na tamilok.

Jeb and his friends arrived in Puerto Princesa on Thursday afternoon and dined in Kinabuch Bar and Grill.  Kinabuch is one of the must-visit restaurants in the area and according to lonely planet, it's #14 of 27 things to do while in Palawan.

Day ONE : On Friday, as part of their tour package, Jeb and his friends went island hopping.  Island hopping included snorkelling at Honda Bay, lunch and swimming over at snake Island, and a lazy afternoon in Isla Pandan.

 Day 1 : Island Hopping!

First stop for the day : SNORKELLING at Honda Bay

They say that the best of Honda Bay is underwater?  Jeb certainly wanted to find out!

Next stop : Snake Island!

Jeb (though he works in the BPO Industry) is a registered forester so he
certainly knows the importance of Mangroves...

Last hop for the day : Isla Pandan!

An awesome way to spend the afternoon : a walk in the beach...

Before dinner at Balinsasayaw Restaurant, they went firefly watching at Iwahig River.  This isn't part of the usual tour packages that visitors may avail, but definitely one of the best things to do when visiting Palawan.

Jeb with his friends before riding the boat for the firefly watching and stargazing...

Jeb said that according to their tour guide, fireflies are sensitive to camera flashes so they weren't allowed to take pictures.  It was an hour boat ride through the Mangrove populated Iwahig river. He added that he has never seen such many fireflies gathered in one place in his entire life.  Sounded really cool!

Day TWO : On Saturday, they went to Ugong Rock, Sabang Beach and the Underground River.  All part of the tour package they've availed.

First stop for the day is the Ugong Rock Spelunking, Summit View Deck and
Zip Line adventure...

First, they climbed their way to the top thru the caves and crevices.
Look at that.  Way to go Jeb! ☺

And when you get there, you get to enjoy the fantastic view!

Then the thrilling 21 second zip line from the top.

After the Ugong Rock adventure, it's a 20 minute ride to their next destination : Sabang Beach!

Here's Jeb enjoying the sun and the sand in Sabang Beach!

The sand and the water looks great!

After lunch and the awesome swim at Sabang beach, they had a 15 minute boat ride going to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (or the Puerto Princesa Underground River).

Boat ride going to the Underground River...

The Underground River is now included as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The Puerto Princesa Underground River is considered to be the world's longest navigable underground river.  Aside from being included as a UNESCO world heritage site, it is also now one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.  Isn't that cool?  ☺

The 8.2 km. underground river winds through a cave before opening up to the
South China Sea.  Here's the entrance to the cave...

Inside the cave, you get to enjoy looking at the fantastic rock formations.

Jeb said it was an experience he'll never forget.
I don't think he looks too happy in this picture tho. LOL!

I believe this is one of the more famous shots!
Everyone who visits the Underground River seem to have a picture like this. ☺

After their exhausting adventure, they had dinner at
Haim Chicken Inato.

This is how Jeb looks like when fed. Spell H-A-P-P-Y. LOL!

Day THREE : On Sunday they had the City Tour, still part of their tour package.  The City Tour included visits to Mitra's Ranch, Baker's Hill, Palawan Crocodile Farm and Conservatory, and Binuatan Creations.

At Mitra's Ranch...

At Baker's Hill, here's where they got those delicious hopia and cookies.
I think i ate most of what he brought home. Thanks bro! LOL

The Palawan Crocodile Farm and Conservatory is actually closed during Sundays, but their tour guide was able to find a way so they were able to check out those steaming hot crocodiles. Haha!

After they've seen the crocodiles, they went on to visit Binuatan Creations.

Binuatan is a Cuyonin (Palawan dialect) word which means 'creations.'

They weave local grasses and fibers and transform them into bags, mats, purses and
other interesting stuff...

Jeb definitely had a grand time in Palawan.
If there's one thing he regrets -- is that he wasn't able to bring home this hot chic.  LOL!

It's fun looking at the pictures and being told of the adventures and the fun they had.  I can't wait till I can re-tell this story from my own point of view.  So Palawan, I will be seeing you soon!  Who wants to come with me? ☺

Here's Jeb on the flight going home.  One of the many things about Jeb: he sketches.

Thank you bro for sharing your pictures and your story!  Thank you for showing me and my readers your look today. ☺

Everybody deserves a break from life's routines.  A vacation oftentimes gives us a chance to view life from a different perspective, learn and appreciate new things (or even old things) and it also motivates us to be better in the things that we do.  So let's plan that vacation, and maybe, make Palawan as our next destination.

By the way, do LIKE my blog's FACEBOOK PAGE and let's get connected!

Until my next post dear friends!

Vhincci Subia (10) - I don't really get envious bro, it's more like 'wishful thinking.' I avoid using negative terms, as much as possible. But hey! One day, you will be on your way to Palawan and other places, and on that day, you too will be telling your own adventures. Can't wait to read your accounts when that 'one day' becomes 'today.'

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I am always glad to see a new name appear. I have, so far, been blessed with fairly good health. My grandparents had good genes and lived long lives. I hope I take after them. Enjoyed your blog.

Talagang ipinakita sa akin ang trip to Palawan. I would love to do stuff like that, pero dahil ang sama ng allergy ko, I was and will never be able to do any outdoor activities. Talagang nag enjoy ang brother mo ah. I like the picture when he was fed, talagang super saya..ganyan din ako kapag kaka labas ng buffet, ear to eat ang ngiti. Di rin pala ako marunong lumangoy kaya ayaw ko sa water. I am scared of heights too, kaya di ako pwede sa rocky moutnain climbing, di ako pwede sa snorkeling. sa eating time lang ako maaashan, hehehehe...thanks for the bisita, happy weekend..
